![]() This was absolutely confusing and they were two different movies in a way that could've retconned the other. ![]() ![]() I watched the movie theatrically as well and it had Amanda in it. To some extent, I feel like what they used for the on demand version should've been saved for the third movie in my opinion. There are no scenes involving Deborah Ann Woll (the plotline that Sonya is Amanda's daughter is completely rewritten), the therapist, FBI agent, or the plane home. Claire then confronts her father, only to reveal that she was the one who killed her mother to stop her from sending Claire away, before killing him. Zoey goes to save Ben, having been told his location from Claire (the abandoned building from earlier), who promises to turn over the GamesMaster to the police. Together, they solve the puzzle that lets Claire out, the GamesMaster then confronts them, only to be locked in the room he locked Claire in. Claire reveals Ben is still alive (though they watch him get taken to a recreation of the steam room puzzle), that her mother died on 26th May 2003 (hence the 05-26 codes in previous rooms) was Sonya, and that Claire is locked in with a puzzle she "can't solve alone". There's a small scene with the staff mentioning a "malfunction" in the transport tube, then Zoey wakes up outside Claire's room. Then most of the film happens the same as the theatrical version (except for an extra scene involving the GamesMaster getting an escape room design from his daughter, who is locked in a room), until the end of the rain scene. The wife threatens to leave him, goes for a swim, then enters a steam room, where she is forced to solve a puzzle, but ultimately dies before she can escape. The "extended" version: starts with a scene from 2003, showing the GamesMaster, his wife, and child. The "theatrical" version, which you can read the plot of on Wikipedia.
